Freelance writing and producing is mostly hard work. But sometimes you have a fantasy week that's so good you have to share it:
I 'went to the movie star show', via my agent's speaker phone, as I'm in Tokyo. Talked with James Darren as we gave him the newly designed box for 'Rock Star Rising (James plays the rock star), and thanked him for working on it. He said, "Let's do another one."
I talked with Donna Loren (Bikini Beach singer) as she sign...ed a photo for me. Told her she inspired me with her new 2009 video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJ-wN37G2rs&feature=related
I thanked Edd 'Kookie' Byrnes for hiring me to direct his audio-memior. He invited me to lunch when next in LA. We'll eat at 77 Sunset Strip and he'll park my car for me.
When making Sinatra's 'Oceans 11' in 1960 Las Vegas, actor Norman Fell looked out of his room at the Sands and saw Dean Martin & Sammy Davis Jr running across the courtyard. 'Where are you guys running to?" Dean yelled back, 'Frank's up.'
Last week, after I go to his show in Tokyo, Frank Sinatra Jr, called me in the morning to meet for script re-writes. Someone saw me running to the train station and called out, "Why are you running?" I yelled back, "Frank's up."
Thanks for reading. Now back to the regular work of writing alone.
