Newsletter Dated: 4/29/2004 11:12:23 AMSubject: More Than Just a Writer Hello, For the fans of Soeur Sourire who are wondering what is taking so long in producing an English language biography I thought I would explain a bit.
In this modern era, especially in America, a writer has to be much more than a writer and it seems the actual writing is nearly secondary. I have to convince publishers that there is a market out there for such a biography and I have to present detailed marketing plans. This is not an easy task and has taken months to prepare. I am in negotiations now with an American Publisher that specializes in textbooks and nonfiction. As soon as I sign the contracts I will let the dedicated fans on my newsletter know as I do appreciate your patience.
I could have been defeated long ago when a certain Belgian politician derailed my train, but he failed to understand that ditching my locomotive only makes me build more tracks in places he never dreamed they could be laid. In the upcoming biography I fully explain the ordeal I have encountered in trying to write a book about a singing nun who lost her way.
I also encourage anyone who can read French to buy Florence Delaporte's book available from Amazon.fr and write a review. An English translation of her work would be easier to sell if publishers are convinced there is a demand for the Singing Nun story. I know there is a demand, but the commercial market needs tangible proof. This a book well worth reading and I owe a great debt to Ms. Delaporte for her endless patience and her own inability to give up.
Best Regards, D.A. Chadwick
