Drawn from the pits and tossed from the light
a winged creature steadfast takes flight.
A pen-like sword with ten times the soul
the mighty muse comes forth to write the scroll.
Come all, come all the words are great!

This newsletter was a long time in creation. Actually... procrastination. It is finally out. I hope to keep those interested up to date on my events, music and misc. info. Newsletter Dated: 8/13/2003 5:10:18 PMSubject: Hey, first "Lori Maynard" newsletter OK, OK sorry folks, I've really procrastinated on sending this newsletter out. For one, since Author's Den calls it the "Lori S. Maynard" newsletter, I feel that I should have something worth reading about placed in it :)
Where do I start? I celebrated my 24th birthday in May. It slipped by quietly. Not exactly true... It did storm like hell and my boyfriend left the sunroof open on my brand new truck. But hey, got it washed for free. The only catch: Had to grab all my disks out of two inches of water and then drive with a wet butt for a couple of weeks.
I've been quiet with poetry recently. I thrive to write to challenges and those have withered up the past few months. I am now back into the swing of things.
CARNIVAL NIGHTS
For those of you who love a good/weird horror story, my story "Carnival Nights" has been steadily growing. I've added on to it a little bit here and there. It's been ready many times; however, the comments on the story are so few... I would love feedback about the characters and plots. That would help the story grow even faster and allow you to read about the characters you hate and even love.
AMERICAN AIRLINES FLIGHT 4184
I just posted this poem today, Wednesday, August 12, 2003. This plane crashed in Roselawn, Indiana on Haloween night, 1994. I was 15. I remember this crash well and even visited the memorial while my carnival played a town near there. Hope that you check out this poem and never forget them, nor anyone else lost from the skies.
MUSIC
Hey folks, hopefully one of my poems will be converted to a song some time in the future :o) Check out the poem "Time has its Moments"
That's about it...
I will try to remember to update this next weekend.
Hope ya'll are doing well and thanks for your support
