Well, it's time for me to hit the road again. I'll be all over Texas in August and would love to see friends and fans drop by. Sitting at an autograph table is frightening. When someone comes in to visit it brightens my day.

This August book, FINDING MARY BLAINE, is something new for me. I still love historical romance and plan to write it for years to come. I just have a few stories in me that are not historicals. It is fun writing
something different, but so much harder.

When September comes I'll be back at my office at West Texas A&M. I love watching fall come to the Panhandle from my window at the Cornette Library. I usually spend the mornings doing the business of writing, then after lunch I get lost in fiction.

Tres's Column

How exciting! I'm a star! Of course, I've always know that I am, but now everyone else will have a chance to recognize my talent. That's right, you guessed it, I am finally in one of Miss Jodi's books! Be sure to watch for me in FINDING MARY BLAINE, on shelves now!

Speaking of excitement...we had a humdinger of a storm recently, with huge hail, winds, rain and lightning. It got one of my trees! This big old beautiful tree right in the front yard that was perfect for perching was UPROOTED and fell right over the driveway. Miss Jodi and Mr. Tom were TRAPPED, and so were the neighbors. I'm gonna miss that tree, sniff sniff.

Did you notice--Miss April finally spelled my name right! T-R-E-S, Spanish for the number 3. After all this time! Well, I guess she spelled it how it sounded...T-r-a-c-e. Looks like Hooked on Phonics worked for her! She's okay, I suppose. Even if she does insist on fussing with me when she visits Miss Jodi.

Well, I must get ready, once again, for lean times. Miss Jodi is getting ready to go on her book tour. As a matter of fact, she's already on the road as we speak! So, I'm left in charge of Mr. Tom. We get along really well, he's good at seeing things my way. Yep, I just about have him trained. But I let him think it's the other way around. You know men.

Be sure and go see Miss Jodi if you get the chance. I know she's looking forward to seeing you!
