"We humans--even now--can still be kind"

HumanKIND

You are right for you: I am right for me
One side for me and another for you
Therefore let us agree to disagree
And save ourselves the trouble to argue

I look back over life and I can see
It never seems to help when people do
If others must then let them fight and fuss
But all ideas are free to everyone

We ourselves are satisfied to be us
Content still when all arguments have done
Their worst to divide and conquer us all
The truth remains that humankind is one

So let us lift each other when we fall
Since having disagreed we can agree
The truth remains that humankind is one
You are right for you: I am right for me

Though humankind seems to have lost its mind
Falling sadly short of its name
We humans--even now--can still be kind
And we two remain just the same

Wonderful write. Full of truth. If you read the article I wrote entitled Tis the season you will note that I wrote much the same thing. If you disagree with me and I become resentful it usually means I am not all that secure in what I believe. Beatifully written.
God Bless,

Only a kind soul could write "HumanKIND"~

"...So let us lift each other when we fall
Since having disagreed we can agree
The truth remains that humankind is one
You are right for you: I am right for me"

...this stanza did it for me...beautiful!

"HumanKIND"

"So let us lift each other when we fall"
In lifting other's we are also lifted whether we realize it or not.
This reminds me of the sentiment "treat a person the way you want to be treated" also "love conquers all" whether individuals want to believe/realize that too!
Everything starts with baby steps until one truely learns how to walk, then perhaps even fly.

Steven, blessings to you and may your fondest wishes come true!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY 2007!!

As long as we still can fall in love, as long as children still smile, as long as the birds sing in the morning before a golden sunrise, as long as we can write such words of beauty as your latest offering there is yet still hope for humanity.
