Kingdom Of The Wolf

Standing stark like the pillars of winter trees he waits
Surrounded by spears of grass frozen and brittle
Not one blade does he break under traveled foot
Hidden well among all of natures shades of gray

Eyes that glint of molten steel seeing far beyond the present
A stare that could pierce and stop the beating of a heart
His unyielding gaze holds fast the breath within your lungs
Voiceless sight conveys that he reigns this domain is apparent

His name is Sirius among the stars held captive in dark skies
He speaks to me with silent thoughts within my mind
Always the searcher and protector of those he claims his own
He sees me not as prey, but as his familiar only wishing to guide

Leading me through inner worlds that were lost to mortal man
His knowledge is vast reaching far beyond the here and now
His is also of ancient times a teacher, a pathfinder, the Earth itself
It is not my soul he wishes to possess, he speaks of a greater plan

He reaches deep within the recesses of my being to stir the flame
Teaching me the power with which I need to persevere this life
All I need do is to reach out and tap into this source of energy
From this primordial light he emits and Sirius is his name.
