...rough...and tough...

I’m stranded on the jagged edge of reality
clinging to the echoes that drawn in mist of midnight
teetering on a mirage of self-awareness
striping away memories yellowed with the varnish of time
mired in the fog of denial
shackled to heartbreak’s tarnished dreams
wondering if I will ever awake from this nightmare
and query why it is that I am not asleep

The last line sums it up, doesn't it. Also, I wonder why the edge of reality has to be jagged. It's bound to cut. There is so much in this poem, I could go on and on but I wont, except to say that it is well written and the pain and anguish that we suffer from time to time is accurately portrayed.

"Edge of Reality" is flowing from the dream's stage to doubtland. It is as esoteric as real, and its definition could be "a quest for happiness".

This poem, "Edge of Reality" provides good reading, while strikes imagination.
