Part 1 LOST

Lost and alone, as though without soul or feeling.
A void deep inside , an open hole leaking the life.
I need a carpenter...to fix the leak.
I need a carpenter...do you know of one?

How can I help others, if I cannot help myself.
My hand reaching for the door, but it wont open.
I need a carpenter ot help open the door.
I need a carpenter...do you know of one?

Seeing a dim light, I walk across a floor of open holes.
Holes so deep, if I step further I feel I will fall in.
I need a carpenter to fix these holes.
I need a carpenter...do you know of one?

My heart breaking, wanting to find peace before to late.
A heart breaking from the weight of sin and anger.
I need a carpenter to repair this heart.
I need a carpenter...do you know of one?

I am slowly drowning, as the waters rise around me.
Have heard of an ark of cypress wood, coated with pitch inside and out.
I need a carpenter to help me build this ark.
I need a carpenter...do you know of one?

I have heard about a wise woman who builds her house...
and like her, I am tearing mine down with my own hands.
Oh how I want that carpenter to fix my house.
I need a carpenter...do you know of one?

Part II The Discovery

I have heard there was a man in Galilee...
a man of wisdom and miraculous powers.
"Isn't that the carpenter's son?"
Could this be the carpenter I seek?

They tell me to look upward for him...
they say, "Look, he is coming in the clouds...
and every eye will see him."
Could this be the carpenter I seek?

Could this be the man to repair my heart...
a heart weighted down with anger and sin.
I heard he said, "Do not let your heart be troubled.
Trust in god."
Could this be the carpenter I seek?

My hand still unable to open the door...
can this be the man to open it?
"I have placed before you an open door that no one
can shut."
Could this be the carpenter I seek?

Still needing light to see the holes in my soul...
holes so deep, afraid of falling in.
"I am the light, whoever follows me will never walk
in darkness."
Could this be the carpenter I seek?

As waters rise around me, can he help me build my
ark?
"eight in all were saved through water... and this water symbolized baptism than now saves
you also"
Could this be the carpenter I seek?

My house in danger of falling down...
I need help to rebuild my house, "for every house is
built by someone, but God is the builder of everything."
Could this be the carpenter I seek?

Part III He is found

Feeling an impulse in my heart, I enter a church.
There, I felt this man from Galilee's presence...
yet, I did not se him and I am scared.
"should you not tremble in my presence?"
Oh, I feel my carpenter is here.

Here in this place a preacher stands in front of 100s
talking of this carpenter, whom I still cannot see....
and yet, I feel this man is talking directly to me.
"the one whom God has sent speaks the word of God, for God."
Oh, I feel my carpenter is here.

Listening to the words, the void in my heart begins to close.
These words being spoken now make me hungry for more.
I have never felt like this, hungry to hear all this man speaks.
"I am the bread of life, he who comes to me will never go hungry."
Oh yes, I feel my carpenter is here.

My soul filling with these words I am hearing.
Like water from a well, I want to drink it up.
Yet, I am thirsty for more.
"If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink"
Oh yes, my carpenter is here.

Standing here in his house, I ask him to let me enter...
for I have found what I seek...
and my soul can now open the door.
"For everyone who ask receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will open.
Yes, you are my carpenter and with you, I will rebuild my soul.
