A little poem about ourself.

What is Self?

We all have it,

Some more.

And some less;

But hard to define,

This sense of self.

So what is it?

Genes from the past,

A reflection in a mirror,

Some birthday celebrations,

Feeling cocky and strong,

Worrying about weakness.

So what’s left,

After all’s said and done,

Borrowed from others;

Nothing much at all,

That’s really “yours.”

What is this thing called self?

A very convincing illusion,

That’s all, more or less.

Wonderful questioning.... So true, our so called individual self merges into the Oneness that we truly are! The root meaning of individual is indivisible... no separate unit entity... but the one Self, each other... united, family, All.. Thank you for sharing the beauty of this William!
