Puppets are still Puppets
be they wrapped in diamonds and robed in lace.
Puppets are still Puppets
no matter the time or place.

Follow the leader in blind faith
barking misfortune as sooth sayers.
On weakness evil directs its bait
in merely two shallow layers.

Freeloaders! The Battlecry,
pull your weight.
Do or die
trust in blind faith.

But.. Puppets are still Puppets
though legion on strings.
Puppets are still puppets
dancing around in rings.

Elisabeth, it is very easy to relate your poem to the socio-political climate of today's world -- for far too may are indeed, "Puppets" and will always remain so -- unfortunately an even greater number are a unique type of puppet, Pinocchio's -- a proper analogy my friend -- may peace and love be with you -- Jon Michael

So sad but yet so true...as the puppetteer pulls the strings all control is in his hands...

Very true indeed, Elisabeth; and most appropriate theme in our current world conditions. Thank you. Love and best wishes,
