This poem is about the mind works to turn an event into part fiction. Especially with love, when that intense feeling lingers off it's easy to turn the entire course of the relationship into a more practical direction in memory. Or perhaps it's the other way around?
Here is what really happened:
We walked down the road hand in hand
some magic in the night
made the stars shine bright.
For all I know you could be the one
you made my heart feel soft
and my toes curl up.
We talked all night leaned back in opposite corners
of the sofa,
hands held a glass of wine
that lasted from dawn to dusk.
And what you said beautiful one
was so much like what I felt
and made me dream of rose strewn path
where together we knealt.
Here is what I remember:
We walked down the road side by side
peace was in my heart
made you shine so bright.
And all I knew was that you
was probably the one.
Oh so many nights were spent sleepless
I spoke and you agreed
You spoke and I agreed.
Together we came to the conclusion
that we see eye to eye
in all ways we abide.
So why not stay together
side by side?

|Elizabeth, the sparks of romance are brightly showering in your work. First encounters often hold magic that lingers even when there is no love. Who knows? If it is right for you, do it. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael|
