in a stormy sea of suppressed suppression.
A metamorphosis of sorts,
control freakish and paranoid.
Paraplegic and tongue-tied.
And so I sit yet this one out.

Ribbons tied to my heartstrings,
much to heavy they weigh.
Curveballs thrown to many,
when all I asked for was them straight.

These crooked traits
have turned Dire Straits,
still  foolishness prevails.

What is this need to quench,
I ask.
Can you not let me stand tall
and proud?

If I intimidate,
if I'm cause for debate.
Then why,
I ask.

All I want is to be me,
you don't have to
can't you see?

I never asked for a world full of clones,
but you treat it as that,
and so we' are a world full of clowns.

Many perilous roads have I wandered
to come to here.
And now it seems I have many left.

My peace of mind is somehow threatening
and need to be disposed.

And you,
all of you,
do this by choice.
How can I turn this around?
Do I need to be like you,
for you to respect me to?

If you think yourself diminished by me
that's just from your point of view you see.

I never once said anything of the sort
not to you, not to your back, not ever.
To me you are all equal, beautiful,
and infinitely clever.
Just a little scared....
Just a little scared....

Deep, probing and scary piece of work here, Elisabeth. Deep because you delved into the inner sanctum of the reader, a place where they might not feel comfortable going. Probing because of the questions you asked and the seemingly inability of receiving answers. And scary because of it deep, probing nature.
