Fall Is Here


The cool crisp air of fall is here,
Oh how I love this time of year.

Leaves of red and golden hues,
Falling to the ground, as if they knew.

Squirrels are gathering nuts to store,
Running around, oh what a chore.

Trees are preparing for their long winter sleep,
Waiting for spring, the promise to keep.

Fall will give way to winter so cold,
Just to leave us with more stories to be told.

I will end my poem with this little note,
It's time to get out the winter coat.
