Her White Knight

His mounted horse gleamed amber light off his shining armor.

His glittering sword shone through the darkness.

As their eyes locked.

The illusion faltered.The decay began.

His armor faded.

The shambles of a pair of jeans and a t-shirt replaced it.

His arms exposed, showed arms littered with track marksand a belly of booze covered in liver spots.

The illusion gave way to reality


As her gaze dropped, so did her notion.
