Amber eyes and scary tale

A book held tightly in hand

A talonís grip will prevail

As hours pass in the sand

And from the cauldron, greenish mist billows

For one moment, an ancient heart falters

Adding the nose of two armadillos

The incantation song and life alters

Stirring mix with wicked hope

The amber eyes burn to red

A stagger turns to a lope

As the heartbeat starts to thread

Within the sickly mist, a form stands firm

Inhaling deeply the remnants of life

Though the lesser beings begin to squirm

Her determination cuts like a knife

Much more than what was before

One lone soul left to bestow

A night riddled with folklore

Feeds the empowering blow

An existence filled with normal living

Can make one forget all thatís really there

A spell that requires the art of giving

Songs of lost trick-or-treaters in the air

Didn't everyone know a "mean old lady witch" in their neighborhood during their childhood? This write feeds that lurking phantom in our psyches! The language is superb in this fine and disquieting write!

This is too frightful and scarey, I can see this one in a haunted house ride like in the rides at Disneyland or just a haunted house like at the amusement parks. This is Terrific!
Thank You.
