Goblins to Giblets

Autumn colors fade into darkness
As a cool October breeze ruffles the leaves,
Awakening more than just trick-or-treaters.
All Hallow’s Eve beckons them.
But after a night of seasonal pranks,
Overstuff tummies, and the start of cavities,
They’ve had their turn at candy madness.
The little monsters.

Now, it’s time for the old timers.
Bare branches of November,
Chilly winds that promise snow sooner or later,
And school children out for a long weekend.
Turkey and dressing are the decorations.
Football and parades, the entertainment,
And pumpkin pie and antacids, the climax.
The afterglow, a napping sloth on your lazy boy.

Oh, what a colorful, sensation-filled experience of autumn painted with your pen. Excellent writing and eloquently stated. I enjoyed every carfully scribed line.
