Have been crushed
When loneliness and adversity
Reign supreme in your life
When the smile is gone, never to return
When tomorrow has lost its entire luster
When anticipation has been dead for years
When the birds sing for everyone else
When the flowers don’t bloom for you
When the day is very long
And the night is very short
When all seems fine on the outside
But it is hell inside,
When you look in the mirror
And Death is looking back at you,
When you just wait for your fate
To complete its painful course
