Walking
Always a last resort
are feet carrying
me through the
festering city dusk.
For only heels,
arching across
indifferent streets,
rob despair of
that staggering
breath whispering
of the grave.

| There is something surreal, yet commonplace about the simplicity of walking as a source of both meditation and stubborn resolve to not let either extremity (mind or feet) atrophy. Simple and to the point. Well done. |

Dark and compelling, the theme that you express within your verses is one with which I am very familiar, Bennett. Thank you. Love and peace to you,
