How a year can change you
For better or worse.
It can hold you hostage or free you from fear.
It can harden your heart or open your soul.
It can make you see colors or wash them all out.
It can make you feel cherished or isolate your entire being.
It can bring you soulmates or ones who deceive.
A year can make you feel ancient, or like an infant again.
It can make you see things youíve never seen before, or make you wish you hadnít.
Ordinary things look brighter, larger,
Or as insignificant as dirt..
A year can make you realize that things you thought were paramount donít even hold an ounce of value.
Everyday things become divinely infused.
Children are a gift, our future,
Not fingerprints on the walls.
Natureís a gift, here before us, long after us, Enormous.
As we mend our spirits, damaged and helpless as fallen baby birds.
