Being of advanced years myself, your poems filled with longing resonate with me. Reading this one I had a strong image of crocheting -- of reaching to pick up a thread and pulling it through to make a stitch, reaching for the next and pulling to make another, and on and on until a pattern is created. You do have a way with words and a knack for creating a beautiful structure.
