I do hope this one isn't too obvious.

THE IMPRUDENT GARDNER

I am an imprudent gardener

Making my moves

Too soon

Four pots and five urns

Mixed geraniums and vinca

Set out on May Day

Because I thought

It was an early Spring

And the right time

Now there are frost warnings

Though I could have sworn it was

Too late

Now I bag them

Protection I hope

Will be sufficient

To keep the blooms alive

Although I chose

The wrong time.

Its been a cool May so far...glad I don't try to grow anything as I found I can only grow grass, the green stuff in the yard, not that "other" stuff, as it grows on its own & doesn't need a green thumb as my thumb is only black...ed

You can water my garden anytime Roger! lol

I love this, you haven't posted in so long, I have missed reading your golden words.

Good to see you back. Let me know when you are back in Middletown, we can go for coffee at Klekolo's!

Peace, love, and light,

I really like this one, I am a gardener in training. I have a little garden on my sun porch, my neighbor's all seem to have success, and I have lived here the longest.

Too obvious? Who would ever accuse you of subtlety? (smile)

I like this, not least because of its pacing. And, of course, I kept my mind on the geraniums . . . most of the time. Now I'm going to go and read more of your poems.
