I've been working on this for so long that the kid is walking now. Maybe I edit too much.

She sits with coffee
By her side
Baby in her arms
The child nursing
To his contentment
Her fulfillment
She is pierced, tattooed,
Spike collared
Vision of Goth/rave chic
He is wrapped, flannelled
Footed pajamas
Infant evening uniform
Together they sing
Dark harmony
And counterpoint
B&D Madonna
And Child
For our times

Roger, a deeply dark but moving poem...She deserves a chance to be a "good" mother. I feel that she is doing a good job with the baby, and nothing else said children are blessings and deserve the maternal influence with them no matter what...I love the way you wrote this, it tells all..

Much peace, love and light,

I'm sad . . . and a little frightened by the mixture of tender beauty and unearthly aversion. The question is whether this vision was a passing one that has haunted you for years (the kid is walking by now) or someone near and dear to you (and you know for sure the kid is walking by now) and I will have put my foot in my mouth. (smile) The point is, though, that you evoked a serious response, Mr. Poet.
