Merry Christmas

Christmas is a time for giving.
I have so little to give materialistically,
it hurts inside.
What I can give is my vibrant smile,
my laughter and my heart.

Expressing myself does not come easily.
I have tried time and time again
to let the walls around me crumble,
however, it never quite makes it to the ground.

When I see you,
I get a feeling inside that is so hard to describe.
I keep my distance, yet, find,
I can’t seem to get you out of my mind,
no matter how hard I try.

I have waited,
letting fate be my guide,
hoping that someday,
you will hear my heart.

I close my eyes, this Christmas Day,
dreaming you were here with me,
to join in the magic of this most sacred day.

My gift to you is a golden key.
Only you can unlock the door to my heart.

BRAVO!! Very poetic and moving.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year.
The time when we recall a child was born.
Jesus brought us unconditional LOVE.

Merry CHRISTmas to you Karen, all of the time!

Karen, excellent poem...the greatest gift is love. It's ashamed that Christmas has become so materialistic that people have to feel bad when they can not compete materially. Best wishes to you ~Z~
