Give me the curiosity of a puppy,
Give me the liveliness of a calf,
Give me the playfulness of a kitten,
Give me the friskiness of a kid,
Give me the bravura of a cub,
Give me the innocence of a child,
And take back all my knowledge;
For, if knowledge can take me away
From all these natural traits,
And make a murderous,
Trigger-happy “Man” out of me;
Then,
Knowledge is not what I seek.
