Mountain Breeze

Some questions for the Mountain Breeze

Thousands of birds have sung from atop millions of trees
Since the last time I encountered you, O Mountain Breeze;
Why, then, does it feel like we met recently?
Is it because with age, I have become forgetful?
Or, does it just mean these years were forgettable?

Here’s something that intrigues me about you, O Mountain Breeze:
For millennia, you have come down the hills and swayed trees,
Do you believe what goes up must come down?
So, is the breeze going up somewhere else?
Or, are you compensating for prices, corruption and lawlessness?
There’s not a cloud in the wide blue sky,
The sun shines hot, the land is dry;
Do you come down the hill to provide relief to the Earth?
When you cool the Earth, where does all the heat go?
Can you reverse the effects of Global Warming?
Since there are many places on Earth that are inaccessible,
And many of them are hostile to Man and inhospitable;
Can I use you to spread good cheer all over the Earth?
Or do you choose to operate in confined geometries
In order not to end up spreading greed and disease?
We have many genres of music on Earth, O Mountain Breeze,
But you create millions of wonderful, unique symphonies;
Why can we not hear the birds sing their melodies in our cities?
Is it because we chose to live away from beautiful Nature?
Or because of our cacophonic and violent human nature?

Before I sign off, here’s one more question for you,
And I would certainly like to hear your point of view:
Do you know the Earth is divided many times over?
Sometimes by language, sex, religion, caste and creed;
And other times by power, money, bias, lust and greed?
