The Other Side

I became ill and was in a coma, for two days, where I saw the other side. I wrote this for my friend's terminal husband.

I've seen the other side, you see

I've seen it, for you and me

It's everything and more

Like walking through a private door

Although my visit was short

Only two days, you know

It was wonderful to go

My dogs were all around

Escorting me on the grounds

Birds fluttering by

Everything alive, saying "Hi"

For me, the serenity was perfect

Nobody angry, Nothing hectic

As you know, they're expecting you

I am anxious to join too

I left, not putting up a fight

You just don't behave that way

Your will follows the light

I wondered why

I, too, couldn't stay in the sky

But now I know the reason

It wasn't my season

Besides I had to share with you

The door ahead

Where all is alive

No one cries

And there is so much to do
