I looked into a picture, disappearing for a minute to a place I wanted to be.
|
I saw a picture of mountains today
And thought of the birds in the trees
I found myself flying free
Swimming like a fish thru crystal clear streams
Or, could I be a beaver happily building a dam
I looked closer, seeing the outline of snow
Could I be a bear cub sliding down
the crisp, clean powder, far from civilizations sounds
I closed my eyes
Feeling the sun shine through
The shadow of clouds passing over
I opened my eyes and found
No beaver, fish or trees
No birds flying free
Only the endless brown
Reminding me
I was still trapped in this desert town
