Its Christmas and you donít have a friend

In a doorway a tramp sits huddled
Begging for a morsel of food
His body so cold he’s befuddled
He wonders if anyone’s good

The snowflakes gently falling
Melting as they land
He hears a small voice calling
He feels the touch of a hand

Lifting his eyes, there’s a small child
Holding a hand out with bread
“Take some please,” the child smiled
From a face blushing and red

“Its Christmas and you don’t have a friend
And we have a house that’s warm
Its Christmas and you can’t spend
Christmas out in a storm”

“Come to our house for Christmas dinner
Sleep in a nice warm bed
Because you’re poor, you’re not a sinner
That’s what Jesus said

God doesn’t want you to be forlorn
Alone on Christmas Day
The day his only son was born
So in our house you’ll stay
