Destiny is preordained It is just the journey to that we travel

I am a prisoner to devious
thoughts that seem to freely roam
Thoughts that darken the halls,
heighten the walls, robs me of all I own
In the beginning love
were the shackles I put on my self
Got the mill turning, the
water wheel rolling. On the shelf went self
I had the best wife, that
every man dreams of but few can have
And children that were so
unique that a dozen more Id love to have
Life was beautiful though
the punches still fell and rained
We had a destiny though
the road was infested with thorns and pained
With Gods help merrily we traveled
twenty years up the road we paved
By faith and through sheer guts
and hard work, grit by grit, we paved
Suddenly the children grew
up and started walking towards the door
The inflow began. Opinions
and ideas of others were valued even more
The deceptive world that
only wants its own selfish, demanding way
Seeped into the thinking
of each of us, in a distinctively different way
Suddenly reared its head
and challenging demanded to have its way
Suddenly I found my
family rudderless, making no more headway
Were now a milling crowd
with no direction but plenty of fights
From which there seems
to be no relief, no peace, no flights
But thank GOD, HE only
wants to have HIS own unique way
We pray that our children
like us, find YOUR one and only way
