Compliment Extended
The Insecure man, or timid if you prefer,
Knows no not how to wield such a thing,
when it rests upon his ears,
The heart pounces, leaps and jumps
in glee, to the ear of
he
who has heard them seldom yes,
in start he winces, his brow set
askew
as he quizzically asks the stranger,
just who are you?
to know how I have waited
yes, lo these long years,
to hear such fine music,
to flirt with my ears,
though I doubt not your sincerity,
nor your nature bright and kind,
yet you came by to late dear sir
for the light dims at dawn
I thank you still surely,
for your venture of heart,
yet the words I just heard,
I needed long ago,
when the light did still flicker in the
lantern of my soul,
and my heart-hope still glimmered
like the sparkly star lit up night,
I awaited a lifetime to meet you dear sir,
but I now lie in the latter,
yes latter time of life
I bow in retreat, as I thank you
once more
for the treat of a lifetime
forever stored upon hearts shore,
you said my words stood tall, and
spake well of themselves
Well, I must say,
my heart slumped and sighed,
you suggested a presence and eloquence
untold,
yes, my words he said
were remembered when read!
My smile of heart shall never rise
to my face,
but I wish I had met you
when I was young in
the race
still told,
better than later
old chap and old friend,
for I shall remember always the
moment you extended your
heart hand
and invoked a blessing, and
compliment alike
to mantle and cover yes, my words
so simply sung.
for they remain yes
my legacy,
my love-letter to
mankind
and I'd hope with my
whole heart
that they would
fly on in time,
on wings of
remembrance
and and sparked scent
yes.....all mine

Oh, wonderful, yes...
oh, you, dear sir...do not believe it is too late, though for some of us have to begin over and over and...well, Bravo! you must now see that, Oh...I am certain ...well, no one can be certain, but your heart, so open must know someday, that this, all the good that comes, well, some must feel new and stay...I hope that for you, anyway, yes...
a love-letter to mankind...now, you see? HOW many ...if any, even consider such a wonderful effort...and succeed!
Thank You, such an interesting poem, such a torn heart, yet mending, but gicing...giving!!! |

| I think, feel poems are like songs, they usually come from experience, memories, from the heart, the "lantern of our souls, from the attics of our minds. Excellent poem, my dear Sir Rodney,, |

"Compliment Extended" is poem composed in the lab of imagination based on emotions of a life collection of reality and dreams.
It is delivering a message that strikes all wire system of reasoning, fraternity and good sense. "Compliment Extended" made me sharp my dagger of love to cut the tongue of indifference.
I Salute the Author of "Compliment Extended".

Is youthful excuberance really any match for the guile gleaned through experience? It is never to late, look at it as a re-birth, resurection, if you like but never lose sight of the value in what you say. If your words touch a single soul then you have succeeded however in your case I believe it would be an underachievement, I think, nay KNOW, you have many a heart to reach. Create, enthuse, inspire, not only others but yourself.
I find words like "wonderful" or "delightful" no longer suitable to meet the level of praise work such as yours merits.
Thankyou. Mal. |
