Pout Tall

Pout Tall

Pout Tall
young lassie
stand pretty
at all times
be demure
in the midst
of heartache
in broken heap found
sulk not thou for long days
as a wayfaring man
for a lass is an eye breath
in a desolate land
my departure untimely
this well known to me
for a girl turns only
once
at the age of sixteen
stand tall
and pout pretty
when you wonder
in white rage
for a young lass is an eye breath
in a desolate age
you walk in my spirit
as I am mingled in yours
so know this day
my lassie
this spirit yours
in legacy I cast it
as mantle upon you
draped in eloquence
emanating from you
your heart like a bunny
don't ever forget
much softer than most folk
more easily pricked
you shall howl at
injustice
collapse under the moon
filled by her beauty
this also is you
you shall know
bad men walking
and good
side by side
this spirit of virtu
is thine alway
like me
by your side
you shall notice the
small
and the helpless as well
this eye has graced family
for all time for well
you'll walk tall
smile proud
pout tall when you must
for a young lass is an eye
breath
on the wasteland we breath
stand tall
pout pretty
be demure at all times
remember my name
for'tis yours
now in time.

You seem to render me speechless, Rodney....for I can't find the proper words to proclaim the greatness of your pen. You wield it well, my friend!

You bestow your words upon us like a gift, enjoyed and devoured by we who are lucky enough to be so blest. Mal.

I love your style of poetry so much, These lovely free flowing thoughts just draw me down to the last word, didn't want it to end..

Excellent!
