Morning breaks consistently,
Habits continue persistently.
Things happen day in and out
As earth rotates round and about.
Suns joyfully rise; suns happily set.
As all the worlds obligations are met.
All proceeds in patterned perfection,
Controlled by a loving, divine direction.
Only one thing is missing from daily life,
This chasm; a wound that cuts like a knife.
The pain is relentless and won’t let me be,
I long for a time when once again I’ll see,
Your face looking back smiling for me alone,
For then my heart won’t be hard as a stone.
Then I’ll be restored whole, but until then
I’ll wake each morning and start over again.
