remembering the simple pleasures of life, oft forgotten - these are my treasures

these are my treasures

an angel who whispers a soft love in my ear
and caresses my heart like a delicate feather

these are my treasures

a friend who can fly overnite just to be by my side
to give me a bit of rest, and the morrow's ride

these are my treasures

a poet who weaves a magic in my heart
speaking every kind word to soothe me, even calling me a bard

these are my treasures

an artiste for whom I am the art, and in the cup of both palms
ever so delicately holds my life's cart, and smiles at me graciously to make my soul dance

these are my treasures

a candle that doesn't tire of burning, just to give my face a soft glow
a bangle which tinkles, just to my rhythm and flow

these are my treasures

the elder who caresses my hair and touches my brow
sharing wisdom from a well-lived life, scores of years in a row

these are my treasures

the neighbor who stops by, just to see if i am doing fine
and that i have stocks to last, a fair appetite to dine

these are my treasures

strangers on the street who make me feel special
with warm smiles, even on my darkest days drawing me out of my shell

these are the my treasures

dear ones that say to me "I got your back", and allay my unspoken fears
while i go after an uncharted track, and understand my precious tears

these are my treasures...
