Once upon a time, there sat a man under a bridge near a rock
And on his arm he wore a yellow band of gold for his lady
He would look into the river that was calm and still like ice
And would think of pleasant thoughts and giggle like a baby

He sometimes would ask himself, was she heavenly sent
Or is it just his imagination playing tricks on his soul
He then would lean back and glance at the clouds in the sky
And could see her smile for miles and miles as the story goes

The sun was shining and the birds were singing with such joy
And this rock became my resting place as I thought of you
I tried to get up and move to another location, but sat back down
Only to reminisce about a woman that I see as pure and so true

When my days are chaotic and my nights are cold and lonely
I can see her image as divine and I believe to be heavenly sent
I can feel her presence through my thoughts as I feel her near
And the hours, minutes and days with her are always well spent

Come and touch my hand and put your arms around and hold me
And let all of the troubles of our days and night disappear into space
But come down from the clouds that are overhead and stabilized
As I lean here on this rock, through the clouds I can see your face.
