Apples n’ Roses
Does a shiny apple really taste better
Than the same one but without the sheen
I think that we’ve all been conditioned
Ill tell you now exactly what I mean
Many things in life are about perception
I see something black and you see white
I look out my window and see sunshine
You look out and see the dark of night
The problem is the object we’re observing
May be seen by all who look to be the same
To paraphrase the master bard’s sweet prose
A rose is still a rose by any name
But that doesn’t really help to solve the mystery
Of the perception differences that can make us blind
To the things that matter absolutely most in our lives
The real difference is only in our mind
