I wrote a song that no one heard

Its notes beyond the common scale

Sweet and distant almost silent

Far above the world so frail

I wrote the lyrics no one read

Words of truth no compromise

The composition intertwined

With music’s whispered soft reprise

I tried to share it with the world

It fell on deaf ears it would seem

So often we do not transcend

The things we do while in a dream

Your dream was valid. Sound needs an atmosphere to be heard. On the other hand, to catch a dream is rare as air.

Sounds like a beautiful dream song Patrick!! Most of our best dreams are forgotten when we wake. I have tried with all my might to remember but I guess that means they were intended just for me!! Love, and peace always~ ~Chessly

Very nice! The solitude of unshared dreams and something of the human condition in your words.

This is meltingly wistful. Aren't they wonderful escapes, though!?
You can do anything you please in a dream, never tell a soul. I do it all, believe me.
Thanks for this,

Can you imagine if all we did in dreams became real life facts? But you have hit on a great sadness: that whatever is said or done in a dream usually goes unseen by the ones we love most...

You too? I've walked that same walk and talked that same talk. I'm a lousy singer though, and I always figured that's why no one listens. Nicely done Sir Patrick. Thanks Dick
