Dateline: West Valley City, Utah

A stray kitty that had been at a local shelter for 30 days used 2 of its 9 lives after surviving two euthanasia attempts via the gas chamber. After the second attempt the cat was found to have no vital signs and placed in a bag in a cooler. Later in the day upon opening the cooler, meowing was heard. The employees at the shelter were of course shocked at the turn of events and managed to find the animal, now named Andrea, a permanent home.

Do you believe in miracles?

Andrea the kitty does

I guess maybe I do too

Now, not just because

Sometimes when things are meant to be

When fate or chance surprise

Putting the smile of wonder on our face

A small miracle before our eyes

So many more go through that door

For most there’s no return

A one way ticket to paradise

But long before their turn

Do you believe in miracles?

This madness can be stopped

Create your own provide a home

Get to a shelter and adopt!

So damned sad that so many today don't see the worth and the love, in every animal, unless something extraordinary happens to them. The same thing recently happened to a dog in Georgia who survived the gas chamber, and has now been adopted. The dozens of dead dogs lying next to him were not as lucky.

Adopt, Adopt, Please! - I shout it every day, but very few listen. And my poem today 'In Memory of Ace' is about a dog that deserved to live, but was so heartlessly put down.

Glad Andrea's story had a happy ending! I would adopt a kitty, but where I live: NO cats. Dogs, birds, etc. OKAY, but NO cats. :( (WHAT THE TRUCK??) (Owner of apt. complex HATES cats.)

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Texas, Karen Lynn. :)

GREAT poem and love the title/pic!
