You picked me up like a pebble and tossed me into the pond

I could still feel your voice as I skipped across the glassy surface

Creating dazzling ringlets one by shimmering one

Each expanding towards infinity

Until they began to merge

Crushing momentum

Absorbing the magic of reflection in motion

Masking my descent

To the silent depths

Of torment

Lamenting now

What might have been

Was just a stone’s throw away

Funny, I was just showing my grandson how to throw a rock so it skids on the surface of the ocean. Your poem touched me so.
Your lines were felt within my mindseye as I read them, I could almost put myself there...
Amazing poetry, Patrick!

Peace, love and light,

Kind of like sitting in the barber's chair with a full length mirror before you and a full length mirror behind you and, there you are, actually seeing yourself as your "what might have been" seen, literally seen from here to eternity.

is this the view from the glass house? or a hell low from the nether regions? Either way or any which way you look at it, the imagery and the metaphor are superb! Nicely penned, Patrick...

Sorry for not commenting more on your work, but I've been swamped with work of my own lately... just finally getting back to reading and commenting... hope you are well, though.

Nice one Patrick. Dick
