When evil people go out of their way to hurt you, the only thing you can do is to pray for them. this poem expresses my mind set towards my former principal and his evil deeds towards me.
|
Blinded by hatred
you can't understand
why I am who I am
I forgive you
your lack of knowledge
have you ensnared
fear is your best friend
for you spend day and night
in the company of fools
fear is sand in the machinery of life
you have allowed the gritty sand
to cover you from head to toe
take my hand if you wish
I will set you free
lest of course
You prefer to remain
in that dreary place
where hatred is the mantra
as for me, I shall
seek new horizons, I will not
allow your destitute thoughts
towards me to control
and make me bitter
it is not too late
you can still take my hand
together we can walk
to the doorsteps of forgiveness

| Greetings Nicole, I enjoyed the poem as always. You have the correct attitude, a forgiving spirit. It's hard to do, but that's what makes you the better person, and you don't lower yourself to their level. A favorite quote of mine, "To have an unforgiving spirit is to burn a bridge over which you may someday want to travel". |

Indeed, dear Nicole. I appreciate this meaningful metaphorical poem that is obviously based on painful experience. I admire your attitude and philosophy. May it be well accepted by the intended recipient. Merci, mon amie. Love and peace and best wishes,
