Having known some who have had a drink problem, and some who have kicked it, and still away from it. I have tried to view it their way.

I called him my friend

but he just used me,

right to the bitter end

he abused me.

I gave him everything

and so much more

so many times I

I could have walked away,

just never happened that way.

I paid the price

he just hid away

I guess it is better that way.

All things must pass

and I am glad it has

I'll never be looking down another glass

or seeing his face

looking back at me,

mocking,

taunting,

making my life hell.
