Listening with your heart

Crowned a brilliant orator,
capturing crowds with his

staccato rhythm when speaking

primarily to Caucasians,

or his “trust me, don’t I sound

like your preacher?” when talking

to the African-American population,
it is not the words he articulates
that give me pause
but the words unspoken
that assault my soul with a vision
of nightmares to come,
for I see the lie in his eyes.

As he speaks of the greatness
of our land, his eyes say let's change it.
As his lips speak of social and economic equality,

his smile says these policies apply to you, not me.
His words tell many what they want to hear

but the in between words wield the sword

that would cut our legs off at the knees, leaving
us crawling to the nearest exit.

The arrogance of power does not scream

it's message but whispers
into your subconscious until

even those who know better follow

the piper to the water's edge.

The red light screamed its warning
but when we fail to heed
the voice within, we perish.

Listen to his eyes.  The eyes never lie.

The eyes never lie.  The eyes never

And many of the sheeple fall for those lies - not me, not me! My Mom used to tell me she knew when I lied. She could see it in my eyes, no matter what I was saying. She KNEW. As do you, as do I. God help us. POWERFULLY penned truths in these words. Well done, Carol.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I have to say, Carol, that he said on numerous occasions what he was about / Distribution of wealth / Changing the constitution / So, we can't say that we didn't know / the man was upfront with a lot of it if you remember his campaign.

an awesome write Carol
truer words I've read yet
what we see is a puppet seducing a nation
with smiles and charms
As the words of others who speak
like illusions exit his lips
through the side of their mouths
behind closed doors......
Love & Peace be with you
