Her tail sparkled as she gracefully moved

Through sapphire and crystal blue ocean

She shimmied and shook, twisted and grooved

Consistently always in motion

Swirling and twirling through emerald grass

She moved to one side so seahorses could pass

Through forests of sea fans she giggled with glee

Past a school of marlins, so graceful and free

She spiraled to the surface and jumped with a splash

A whale blew her a fountain in friendship

She sat on a rock, the waves hit with a crash

And she watched a silly dolphin do flips

As the sun turned the sea to a fiery red

She slipped under the waves to her watery bed

And lay there dreaming of what tomorrow would bring

As she drifted to sleep while the angelfish sing

Very visual and colorful. I feel like I'm watch a film. Nicely done. Patrick

An aquamarine beauty that whisks you away to some shell covered coral reef.

I love it !

What a lovely setting you have painted with your verses, Melissa. Thank you! Love and best wishes,

This is great, I love the way you use a child mermaid as the subject for this poem and you can feel her youthful exuberence. If you can find a way to remove the coded paragraphs breaks it would be great, they are the only things that distract from it.
