A Tally of Angelic Causes

Haven't written anything even relative to poetic in quite a while between business and life - getting my feet wet again - and I don't expect much grandeur for a little while ahead. So read with intrepidation! :-)

yes, in retrospect, earmarked
personal bench warrants
may be jottings in memoirs
of angels' tallied careers. heavenly
scorecard keepers render
assignment lists to check off,
and fling their successes toward
some hierarchy of celestialism.

leave occasions for us - to stand
firm - as sojourners of truth,
hearing whispers that proclaim...sitting
may have befitted our moment the best
.
So we sit in glazed reverence.
Accolades ensue as to "why?"

Don't we have convictions? Yet,
storm barricades waving flags

in proclamation on momentous occasions
we are noted pontificators, illogical
amusement seekers. Faith's ascriptions become
blind endeavors, endless questions speak
close-to-the-edge cautionary potential
of cliffed hangings, acceptance is escapist
flagrant irreverance too risky, but elective
humility is ineffectually pompous.

skywary gazes decry over-bearing
anticipations - lowered eyes
self-inflicted mutilations with
negative
renderings. Ambivalence an under
achievement, contentment lacking ideals.
Rage unfortunatism of mind that seeks reproach.

In all, our guardian's tallies must result
in some unimportant discourses with God.
failed assignments, where conscripts succombed.
Leave the curious to wonder...
Are
angels given work related warnings
and then reassigned other social

experiments before termination?

If so, do you think we can learn
who is next in line and then warn them?

Thank you for this magnificent imagery and poem, God spends a lot of time in your heart and head which is beautiful. I think when we assist one another on earth speedily we become that person or persons' angel and the wings are our heart, we have answered their prayer all orchestrated by God! Peace!!! Once again wholeheartily thank you for this poem.

ANGELIC CAUSES...HMMM...INTERESTING. I DON'T KNOW ANY ANGELS SO I CAN'T GO THERE BUT I DO KNOW ABOUT POETS CALLED TO WRITE POEMS THAT GIVE GOD ALL THE GLORY AND PRAISE THAT HE SO RICHLY DESERVES - I AM ONE. I CANNOT SPEAK FOR OTHERS BUT I AM FAR FROM BEING ANGELIC - I AM A SINNER LIVING BY THE GRACE AND MERCY OF GOD ALBEIT, THIS IS WHAT SUFFERS ME TO BE ONE OF HIS POETS. HAVING BEEN SO MANY OTHER THINGS IN MY LIFE, I AM CERTAINLY GRATEFUL TO BE HIS INSTRUMENT. THIS WAS A GREAT WRITE - ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS. JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
