Another one from the 80's

The Dreaming

I dream you standing by a roadside
Wind blowing in your face
Brings to mind familiar places
I see a summer’s night in France
Although it’s far from here
Miles just seem to disappear

When I’m dreaming, dreaming about you
When I’m dreaming it never seems like
Heaven died and went to Hell
Don’t tell me, don’t you sit and stare
I see your face inside me
See your lipstick everywhere

Now I’m dreaming
You never left my side
I know it’s just a lie
But in the dreams I never cry
I guess I
Need to face the truth
But it’s hard this time
Thoughts of you they cloud my mind

I keep dreaming
Dreams are all that I have left
I keep dreaming
Dreaming a wall around myself

I keep trying and trying
To shut you out
But I don’t know how
I shout out loud
And keep dreaming
Dreaming about you
