It Doesn't Matter...

There comes a time when one must come to terms with the fact that, most likely, there will not be loving friends and family at one's bedside when the end comes. It may not be a pleasant death and there will probably not be a 'gentle' passing from this earth to one's heavenly home. One certainly hopes that this is not the case, but in all probability, it will be so. Thinking on these things a decision...a stand...has to be made. Now, if one knows Jesus, they will understand this short work completely and joy will fill their hearts...if not...one will not comprehend at all and sadness will ensue. Thus, let me say this; however my God sees fit for conditions to be at that time...this is my epitaph...

It doesn't matter...if the sun shines

Perhaps...that day will be foggy...or rain for a time

It doesn't matter...when I sleep...if

an atmosphere of peace...will be the case

For however I shall come...to leave this wretched place

It only matters when I wake

That I should see ...'His' Blessed Face

Oh what blessed consolation Joyce! For I just recently experienced the passing of my father inlaw, who was also my Pastor and mentor too! What a blessing to read these uplifting words of hope!

Excellent write Joyce, and may the Lord continue to make you the pen of a ready writer filled with His inspirations, blessing and ministering to each reader in such a personal way. Thank you Joyce for sharing and caring so much about others!

Yes, to 'see His face' and be welcomed home ... that is what matters, not whether it rains or shines ... but how we lead our lives matters in order that we should be welcomed. Well written, thoughtful and inspiring. ~Elizabeth

Joyce, you are right. Sometimes we forget that life is a journey and despite its difficulties our final destination is all that matters. Thanks for the reminder.

Joyce,
We leave, we move on, and while the circumstances of leaving may not be pleasant do they really matter in the end when we travel to another hope, another adventure, a reward?

Oh the thoughts. It is sad to think of being alone at the end. However, it is sadder still being alone here on earth. Even though I know I do have God in my life, so I am not really "alone". But at the end, the joyful thought would be that of going HOME to HIM, our heavenly father.
