Holloween was primarily a 'kid's thing' when I came along. Now, the adults have gotten involved as well, and there's nothing wrong with that because, having fun is a treasure that is open to all ages. But, I am thinking back and...so much has changed from when I was a kid(i'm 65). There were socks filled with all different colored chalks that has been crushed to powder...and one ran from the 'boogie man'...dodging a whack with the sock. I remember the day after that the streets looked like a kaleidoscopic landscape work of art. One didn't buy costumes(maybe a simple mask), while some put on mom and dad's clothes (high heels and all)... everybody wore lots and lots of make up, usually from your mother's cosmetics supplies...and one never had to worry about goodies being tainted....we just had fun!!! So, I've decided to come from the 'wee' Holloween aspect...little people... keeping it happy and light...with a few ku's.

hear the 'knock'...you know

precious...with tiara...goes

...wee royal beauty!

***

 a lovable 'jest'...

big red lips and orange hair...

smiles...from here to there

***

fur ball...with puffed tails

large floppy ears...skipping free

with candy and glee!

***

gum drops in the mouth

squeal with happy delight...from

north, west, east and south

***

nothing scary for

ones so small...a day's pretense

and having a ball!

***

adorable tyke

with wire halo and stars

 wings...like from afar

***

tiny ones taunt 'fright'

...enjoy a tradition on

a 'free goodies' night

***

keeping it safe and

keeping it bright...tons of sweets

enjoyed...on Boo's Night!

Joyce,
The images are fine...fleeting and yet lasting, glimpses into the moment and the occasion.
