Although I am just posting this poem, it was written a couple of years ago(slight revisions). But the story that inspired this work was just recently posted, it is entitled; The Road...to 'Him'. A fellow Den Member asked that the readers of his work listen to Adagio ur Concierto de Aranjuez...I did and became inspired to write the story that goes with this poem. God is amazing...He really is. Who would have even imagined that 2 1/2 years after writing this poem (I was a member of another site and knew nothing about AD at that time), I would be influenced by the music of an AD member's work to write the story behind this poem? I am amazed as I always am, at the wisdom of Almighty God. Over and over again He proves Hisself to me. His love is truly...more than a love affair

Words spoken...but not meant

actions taken...leading to false intent

Often...for only a moment in time

can one call someone...'mine'

Then we're stripped bare...

But Jesus' Love is... more than a love affair

Passion and desire...roar through our loins

forever...we vow...we'll never unjoin

Then comes forth a fiery dart

and out of nowhere...comes the decision...let's part

Just when we need someone strong...all have left

no comfort...when you're needy and bereft

What happened to all the care?

Ah, but Jesus' Love it's... more than a love affair

Deeper than any surging ocean...

He knows our every emotion

Higher than any rugged mountain...

we can nourish daily at His fountain

Wider than any raging sea...

that's what the Prince of Peace will be to you and me

And He'll always let us know...when He's near

Jesus' Love is... more than a love affair

He looks beyond our faults...

catches us when we somersault

We're never an embarassment to Him...

His Precious Blood is not thin

Our relationship He'll never cut short...

He simply sees 'clay' that needs more wrought

He slowly eradicates doubts and fears...

Jesus' Glorious Love! ... more than a love affair

Unending and untiring is His band...

none can snatch us from His hand

Our Knight in shining armour...our ever reigning King

our bond far surpasses a lover's fling...

For it's a standard for all to see...

be it hard times or in the midist of calamities

This union even the world's demise cannot tear...

Jesus' Sweet Love! ... more than a love affair

Let the stars and moon..refuse to shine...

let the water's ignore boundaries...and flood mankind!

Let the screaming hurricane howl...

we are still His...heart, mind, soul and bowel!

Let the mighty hills tumble...

this 'song' we have...will never crumble!

For it reaches into the heavens and is anchored there!

It is more, much, much more...than a mere...love affair!
