An unique look at Summer greeting Fall and...moving on...with delight!

Well, hello there...

so glad you've arrived!

I had a good idea you were

just around the corner...what with

the days growing shorter

Also, I know you are never late're always so faithful

and I welcome you, 'cause...

I've had my fill of the

sun's heat!

Yeah, I know, rain

did visit... but she distributed herself

so unevenly...

I mean, truthfully, she was either

too much...or...not enough

So...let me step aside and let

your 'tantilizing breeze'

begin its refreshing...

in preparation for much

cooler times

Ah...look! Over there...

check out my prodigies

who are already donning their

beautiful new coats...just for you

And one cannot ignore the fact

 that my melodious feathered

guests are suddenly making themselves

quite scarce defintely time for me

to go...I see that my

bushy tailed friends, which

always stay on with you,

are totally ignoring me...scampering

about, here and there...

filling up their storage bins

Well...thanks for relieving me and...if

The Good Lord is willing,

I'll be seeing you again...

Same time, same year

This is an excellent summary of summer flowing into Autumn and autumn flowing into winter. The story flows, and the visuals (bushy-tailed friends) create nice images. A lovely write, Joyce.

A fine ode to the end of a season and the birth of my favorite one, autumn. Your poem reminds me very much of one that I have posted here at AuthorsDen entitled, "Death of August." Thank you, Joyce. Love and blessings to you,

Joyce, while I am no fan of winter and an admitted friend of summer -- your poem expresses a justifiable love of the colors of fall and the wisdom of He who controls the seasons with omnipotent wisdom -- I bid you love and peace my dear friend -- Jon Michael

Whoever is in touch with change
knows the value of living and
the power of love...this is tender,
personal writing, Joyce, and so in
touch with what really matters.

i love that soft 'Bye...bye!' ending.
