What Are Friends For?

A total stranger
You were to me
One day I became
Your friend in need.

Crying out for help
Not wanting to bother
You quickly remind me
What are friends for?

Compassionate words
Continue to shine
In who you are and
What you say and do.

Hundreds of miles
May stand between us
When I’m making a fuss
You remind me to smile.

Thank you, stranger
For being a friend
Even though you're there
I know you’re sincere.

What a beautiful thought filled poem! Friendships can begin in numerous ways and can serve a good purpose. Rememeber distance never seperates hearts that really care. ( I 'm not sure who wrote this, but it's so very true) Thankyou Deborah. Always remember , you are not alone!....MaryGrace
