Christmas Joy
Twas the night before Christmas
And, all through the house
Everyone was sleeping – except…
A five year old mouse.
In the darkness, as I layed on the bed
I played with toys in my head.
Excited that Santa was on his way
I’d been a good girl, Mommy said.
Twas the night before Christmas
And, all through the house
Everyone was sleeping – except…
A sixteen year old mouse.
Arriving home way too late
I quietly tip toed to my room
Almost made it when mother said
“Its way past your curfew, go to bed.”
Twas the night before Christmas
And, all through my house
My children were sleeping – except…
Momma Mouse.
Tired and ready to curl up in bed
But, too much to wrap, I can’t get ahead.
Oh No! – There’s no more scotch tape
I’ll use duct tape instead.
Twas the night before Christmas
And, all through my house
My teenagers were testing me.
Guess what? Way too late staying out.
Their presents were wrapped
And placed under the tree.
I had even doubled scotched taped
Because, I knew they would peek.
This night before Christmas
Throughout my house
Not a creature will be stirring
Not even Momma Mouse.
I’ll be dreaming of my loved ones
They’re my most precious of gifts.
I’ll be thanking my Lord, and Savior
For simply blessing me with this.
God bless everyone…….Merry Christmas!
